Theorist in Education
Throughout the history of children's psychology theorist began realize and developing theories that were based around children's environment and the experiences they have in them. Some moments children experiences stick them for their whole lives. Do you want to make sure those experiences are positive?
Maslow's Hierarchy of Needs

Maslow developed a pyramid based off of what he believed the elements needed to be a "whole" person.

Involvement in the community and acceptance from others are parts of this pyramid relating back to our models and body image acceptance

Our jobs as members of the society is to provide a safe and positive environment for children to find new skills to help complete the Hierarchy of Needs.
Vygotsky's Zone of Proximal Development

Vygotsky developed a theory called the more knowledgeable other, meaning that the people surrounding children can help them learn what they do not know.

We can connect this to physical education with students starting off with a certain set of physical skills and with the help and practice with others they can improve on the area of development.

Bronfenbrenner's Ecological System

This theory is a very detailed diagram of the environment a child is in can greatly affect them.

Microsystem this is the environment that directly affects a child such as home and school.

Mesosystem this is how much influence the child receives from others.

Exosystem is any situation that may affect a child

Macro is cultural influences

All of these can affect a child's mental and physical development for very obvious reasons, how much activity and health resources they are surrounded in can set the stage for the rest of the child's life.
